CoachCam is a CCTV package specially designed for use in coaches and buses. In its standard configuration it includes a four interior cameras with night vision, alarm inputs to monitor things such as brake lights, indicators, doors open/closed etc, and a hard disk drive recording system suitable for over 2 weeks of continuous recording. It also includes a dash mounted LCD screen providing the driver with a live view of all passenger areas, and can optionally be fitted with a GPS tracking system to facilitate fleet management and even real-time passenger information (RTPI). Cameras can also be fitted to monitor cash and ticketing transactions, and external events such as other road users (for instance to verify details of accident claims). Video files are encrypted and so are admissible as evidence in court.
